How the craft of strategy helps creatives create, execs relax, & everyone feel less afraid
AAF Chattanooga’s April event features Creative Strategist Randall Bourquin at the Edney building. It is free to the public.
Randall wanted to move to New York City upon graduating from the University of Georgia, so he accepted a position in Lima, Peru, where he worked on TV Distribution Marketing on behalf of BBC World News. After taking the long way home with a backpack and a few surfboards, he did move to New York, where he integrated brands into Univision’s sports properties like F1 and the 2014 World Cup. He then worked on the World Surf League’s in-house Creative team as a Copywriter and Brand Manager, focusing on growing the brand and increasing engagement across all channels. Stept Studios is where he led Creative Strategy for clients and learned where all that premium content comes from—his favorite bit of which is a 12 minute short film about jazz, grief, and generosity called Sundays at the Triple Nickel, presented by Crown Royal.
At EssenceMediacom, he currently works as a Strategy Director on the Coca Cola business.
He’s from Atlanta, tries to read at least one New Yorker article every week, loves the Drive-by Truckers, and believes deeply that vanilla ice cream is not plain ice cream.
